We work together on what is interfering with daily life, whether it is painful sex, IBS, fibroids, prolapse, incontinence, sexual boundary ruptures…. We’ll explore intra-vaginal work, energetic work, breathing, abdominal massage, bodywork, exercises, and active imagination. We may use Holistic Pelvic Care™, as taught by Tami Kent, to work with birth experiences, pregnancy loss, abortion, and surgeries, as well as Women’s Pelvic Bodywork as taught by Martin Beaudoin, Pelvic Mapping, and Genital Dermouring. Whatever is needed to bring your body to a place of feeling comfortable, empowered, whole and safe. We may also discuss hormones and nutrition.
This is what a pelvic session with me might look like. We will start with creating a safe space, and establishing consent and boundaries for touch and treatment. We will check in around what is present for you in the moment, and if it is a first session we might do a full intake that includes physical history and some of your body’s stories. We will discuss the nervous system and how it relates to your yes, no, and to your sexuality, and The Wheel of Consent. We will also talk about pleasure anatomy. I will burn herbs and offer a blessing. A session may include releasing the psoas muscles, abdominal massage, external touch and assessment of the bladder, uterus, ovaries, and vulva, and internal vaginal work (if it is a yes for you and fully available) to assess pelvic musculature health and begin to feel into what is present and what wants to be released. The treatment may also include external bodywork of fascia, lymph or musculature, internal vaginal myofascial massage, instruction in pelvic muscle and breathing exercises, energy work, and other techniques as needed. We will close with a guided meditation or active imagining. You can slow, pause or stop assessment/treatment at any time. Your consent and comfort with this work is the most important piece.
